Thank You for checking out the Fallen Heroes Ride website. It is my goal with this letter to help clarify a couple of things regarding the Dice Run and the Charity Event. This originally was the usual 5th Annual Fallen Heroes Ride put on by the Axemen and the Warthogs. We have now been blessed to have two celebrities join us for the weekend. They are from the tv show Rescue Ink. The show is about an animal advocacy group based out of NYC and they love to ride. There is such a huge following of the show here in Toledo that we have opened up the event to non-riders. The Fire Museum is where our registration is and all bikes need to register there to compete in our Dice Run. Any non-riders are welcome to come there from 930-1230 and the guys will be available for photos up til 1200. They will have Rescue Ink stuff for sale and there will be a lot of other things going on. The museum is FREE and open for all to see and lots of volunteers will be there to guide you through one of the best fire museums in the country. If you’ve never been to a bike event, you will want to be there before 1100. Prior to the ride we have traditional things that we do for motorcycle events as well as for the police and fire departments. The first bikes will leave at 11 but registration will still be open and the guys will be there to ‘meet and greet’ til 12. They will take a few minutes to themselves before they ride out for the dice run. Anyone who goes to the end stop/afterparty will have a great time. The bikes will take a route provided for the dice run that will take them to 3 stops prior to the end. We ask that people in cars wait for a while to let the bikes leave safely, and then to go visit the Police Museum. It just opened in June and is quite a sight to see. Non-riders will have a couple hours between the end of the registration period and the party at the Pump. Non-riders are encouraged to register at the beginning with everyone else because when you register for $15 you will get a meal wrist band, a pin and a t-shirt (we are ordering more than 100 but get there early). Each person who is in the car who wants to eat at the afterparty needs to register at some point. The dice run is similar to a ‘poker run’ in that is a competition for the best ‘hand’- the highest rolls. The highest roll for the 5 stops will win a cash prize and there will be a cash ‘consolation’ prize for the lowest as well. Each ‘biker’ that registers will get a game card for the Ride. This does not mean that non-riders are out of luck. We will provide extra game cards for purchase at the afterparty. Anyone (of legal age) can play. If the ‘bikers’ have terrible rolls but not so bad to get the lowest, they can try their luck again. Essentially it’s like a ‘buy-in’ for Texas Hold’em, if you’re familiar.
Since the Rescue Ink guys are into all types of animals, you’ll have to watch the news and check back to the website often. We are also on Facebook. We have lots of places we will be escorting them to on Friday. Anyone is welcome to come visit where and when we are at each place. (The owners of each would love that!) We are starting at Perrysburg Signature Harley Davidson at 9am on Friday, Aug 5th. HD is so gracious, they are donating two Harley’s for these guys to ride for the 3 days they are with us.
Hope that helps clarify a little. There will be no live animals/pets at the event on Saturday. On Friday we will be visiting as many animal shelters as we can fit in. Please check back for the itinerary and find us on Facebook.
Please support our sponsors as they have supported us.
Be safe out there.
